Red Mountain Blues
I drink a lot of red wine, white wine and a little beer, too.
I wake up in the morning feelin’ low down. I think I got the Red Mountain Blues.
My house is wrecked and ransacked and the rent is comin’ due
But I blew all my bread on red wine. I think I got the Red Mountain Blues.
I got a letter from my baby. She said, “I’m fine and how are you?”
I wrote back, “I’m feelin’ down an’ out, girl. I believe I’ve got the Red Mountain Blues.
Well, she told me that she’s comin’ back some day after her travelin’ is through.
Meantime I got company. I’m entertaining the Red Mountain Blues.
Yeh, I go to work about noon time, 5 o’clock my workin’ day is through.
By 6 o’clock I’m drunk again, Lord. I think I got the Red Mountain Blues.
Now they tell me that I’ve got a lot of good friends. Let me tell you about a few.
They spend all their time down on G Street. I’m talkin’ about the Red Mountain crew.
Dale Lyberger pushes the bass beat and he plays a pretty good guitar, too
But his old lady says that Amy needs bread. Dale’s got the Red Mountain Blues.
Ed Mann he lives out in my car house. He don’t drink much but when he do
He pounds those drums a little bit harder. He’s beatin’ out the Red Mountain Blues.
Stevie Samuels plays a wailin’ guitar but a slow shuffle is all that he wants to do.
And Chicken Shack in G to me ain’t nothin’ but the Red Mountain Blues.
Yeah, I drink a lot of red wine, white wine and a little beer, too.
I wake up in the morning feelin’ low down. I think I got the Red Mountain Blues.
Yeah, I believe I got the Red Mountain Blues.

NOTES: Another song from 1969 while living on G Street, this is about my life style at that time and some of the musicians that frequented that house.
