You Best Go Party Now

I close my eyes and I sail away,

Free falling down through the sky.

I can’t seem to recall just when I started to fall

But it was before I learned to cry

And before I learned to fly.

Now a billion stars spin through the night,

Blazing over my head.

But the essence of me

Will continue to be

After all your words are said

And after all those stars are dead.

And just what it’s all about you can’t know anyhow

But your time is running out so You Best Go Party Now.

Birds of prey are out on the wing

Circling high up above

And the soldiers all dance

While the generals prance.

It’s war they’re dreamin’ of

And hatred crushes love.

Now there are many sides to everything

But all sides are one and the same.

There’s a single fang

To the Yin and the Yang.

They all share a common name.

They all play a common game.

- Chorus –

The warm sun is gone from the soft green grass.

It’s colder and it’s covered with frost

And the sickle swinging splendor

Of life’s legal tender

Reminds us all of the cost

That we pay for our innocence lost.

So don’t look at me through your empty eyes

With your chest puffed up with shallow false pride.

I don’t care to know

Just how far you go

Or about secrets you don’t try to hide.

I’m only along for the ride.

- Chorus twice –
